1. 物質的な身体をもたないが，ある種の個性を備えた超自然的存在や力。草木河川等に宿るとされる。

ある戴いた手紙から、レ・ゼスプリとはフランス語で精霊のことと知った。

前にも感じましたが、「レ・ゼスプリ」（精霊、les esprits）と呼びたいような世界を感じます。 」

意味は単純だが深い。 
「精霊」とは目にはっきりとは見えない。 だが、人の考えうる想像を遙かに超えて生きる何ものかではないか？ 

自然界に放出され、死に絶えたと思われたある植物のいのちが、ふたたび蓮の一粒の種子から遥か数千年を経て甦った話がある…。
そこにこそ私は名付けようのない「精霊」と呼ぶべきものを見る。奇しくも私は個人を超えた何ものかを奏し、曲としているのだと思う。 

このアルバム「レ・ゼスプリ」を、親愛なる竹本忠雄氏の七十九回目の誕生日に捧げます。

The meaning of this album is a meaning of natural soul in French.
I asked Prof. Tadao Takemoto the word.
The meaning is deep though it is simple.
A natural soul is not visible.
However, it is there through all eternity.
I made a natural soul a melody.
This album is dedicated on the birthday of Mr.Tadao Takemoto of the 79th times.

Chancey

TAKEMOTO Tadao, born in 1932, now is a professor emeritus of Tsukuba University. He graduated from Tokyo Educational University (present Tsukuba University), then studied in University of Sorbonne, Paris. He was awarded a Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from French government in recognition of his study of Andr'e Malraux in 1980.
